Our client who is based near Wellington in Somerset, with international links are looking for a Buyer to join them on a permanent basis. The Category buyer will work with the Procurement Team at their Head office.
To manage buying process for your nominated categories including strategic direction and supplier selection.
Negotiate price and service and monitor supplier quality and service- feedback as appropriate.
Operation of the procurement process for your nominated categories (including forecasting, order placement and follow-up and negotiating best delivery terms.
Network with contacts in the business to ensure that priorities are clear and commercial goals are followed through.
To provide a deep knowledge of the supply base that underpins the Company business and derive the best value from it whilst managing risk.
To provide a professional and comprehensive support to project managers to complete all sourcing briefs according to strategy and project timelines. To negotiate terms and prices directly with vendors.

To approve and take ownership of purchase pricing both in terms of ensuring best buying practice and negotiation and the formal aspects of actual and future price data in ERP system.
Successful applicant will have:
Working knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier management
