Garment Technologist – Womenswear
North London | Full-Time, Office-Based
Salary to £45,000+ Depending on experience
Our client is a well-established and highly respected womenswear supplier of soft separates and tailoring with over 25 years of success in the fashion industry. Based in North London, the business employs staff in the UK with a further in Europe operating a mirror-function sourcing and production team to support continued growth.
As the company continues to expand and target major UK high street retailers they are looking to appoint an experienced Mid Level Garment Technologist to help build the foundations for future growth and support the onboarding of larger retail accounts as we speak .
The Role
This is a newly created position within a growing technical team. You will work closely with all colleagues to ensure products meet customer requirements, quality standards and critical path deadlines.
The current technical team is small but experienced , production is done in Sri Lanka , Morocco and Romania
Key Responsibilities
Manage garment fit, construction and technical approvals across womenswear categories.
Review and comment on samples, specifications and fit submissions.
Liaise with factories and suppliers overseas to resolve technical issues.
Work closely with design, production and merchandising teams.
Ensure products meet retailer requirements and quality standards.
Support the development of new retail accounts and contribute to building robust technical processes.
Manage critical paths and ensure timely approvals throughout the development cycle.
About You - must have experience
Previous and recent experience as a Mid level Womenswear Garment Technologist ideally with a UK high street supplier or high street retailer
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit and manufacturing processes.
Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories.
Knowledge of high street retailer standards and requirements.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Able to work collaboratively within a growing team environment.
Experience across multiple womenswear product categories, including outerwear, is highly desirable.
Commutable to North London and eligible to work in the UK
