Production Team Leader
Location: HIGHBRIDGE, United Kingdom
Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum
Type: Permanent, full-time
Our client who is based in Highbridge are looking for a Production Team Leader.
This role reports into the Production Supervisor.
To effectively manage your area with help from the Supervisor so that the daily/ weekly targets are achieved in all areas and with the minimum labour cost and material wastage cost to the company.
To communicate, assist and work closely with all Team members throughout the day on all issues.
To monitor performance daily by regular line walks and report achievement figures and any personnel or process issues back to the Production Supervisor or Management.
To be proactive and quick in resolving any production or process issue so that there is minimum disruption to the line.
To encourage teamwork, positive attitude, good discipline, morale and good attendance
To promote safe working practices at all times according to the H&S rules of the company.
Together with the Supervisors ensure that all factory personnel are trained to required and already well established high quality standard in all duties.
To liaise with the Supervisor and Management to achieve continuous customer satisfaction.
Effectively Managing / Communication
Working from your weekly/daily target plan, be fully aware at all times if production is falling behind in their scheduled work.
Work closely with your Supervisor or Manager on all factory issues and tasks.
Check every morning and throughout the day that manufacturing is on schedule.
Monitor the overtime worked. Keep the overtime to minimum at all times.
Make sure that you report the line progress daily by completing the wip sheets and handing them into the Production Office by 3.00 pm latest.
Monitor general operator time-keeping and duration of their breaks.
Give positive and constructive encouragement to Team members if and when they deserve it. This brings the best out in people.
Attend Production, Team Leader and New contract handover meetings from design to production.
It is your responsibility to achieve the required quality standard
Work to resolve any process, tool, personnel or quality problems as quickly as possible to maintain production continuity.
Work together with design, Supervisors and Management on any new projects to get them started according to drawings.
Work closely with Production Management on all quality issues or concerns.
All operators should be fully aware of the acceptable quality/work standard.
Work together with line employees and management to achieve process improvements, ease of work, quality improvements and time and cost cutting whenever possible.
