Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (salary FTE- Pro rata - part time 30 hours )

I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a Bridgwater based company, who are looking for an efficient and organised accounts assistant, who would like to take responsibility for the purchase ledger processing for this multimillion turnover manufacturing business.
This position offers the opportunity to work approximately 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday inclusive.
You will be part of a friendly and hardworking finance team of five looking after all aspects of the purchase ledger function which in summary will include:
Control and processing of all invoices received through to payment via bacs /chaps and foreign currency transfers
Liaison with internal departments to ensure timely invoice matching and authorisation.
Preparation of month end bank reconciliations in sterling and euros
Management of petty cash and expenses payments for the site.
Month end reconciliations including nominal ledger and GRN, plus accruals calculation.
Resolution of any supplier queries and proposed new supplier payment terms for review by the FD.
Additionally you will support the FD by liaising directly with the Auditors regarding purchase ledger queries as required, resolving supplier queries in a prompt and courteous manner and covering for other members of the team during holidays or absence.
This position is to start mid November which will allow for training on the company accounting system and internal processes.
Experience of a variety of accounting packages and confidence in the use of Excel will be an advantage.
